I’m probably spoiled because I’m used to a different brand but I don’t believe this puts out enough negative ions to be effective. Other brands have small fans inside to help push the ionization along. This one is silent however it’s effectiveness is probably less than 5% that of other brands. I did not notice a reduction in odor and I have to put my nose exactly 3 inches or less next to it to detect any ionization.
