solidly built and convenient
These things are simple, solidly-built mechanisms that do what you want them to do. I hooked three of them up, just now, using teflon tape on the threads. When I pressurize the hoses there's not a drop leaking at the junctions. Hoses connect and disconnect solidly.
I think the customer complaining about having to turn off the faucet in order to change hoses is missing two considerations. First, if you want a quick disconnect because of an impending freeze, then a pressure-valve inside the faucet-side would retain water outside the faucet-valve which could freeze. With the current design, you can just disconnect your hoses before a freeze without any risk of ice-damage to your faucet. Second, a pressure-valve would add resistance to the flow, as well as complexity ... okay, three considerations.
My order of 4 came with a handful of spare hose gaskets. That felt like a bit of thoughtfulness, to make sure that I was successful. Nice touch.
