Read before you buy a Goal Zero Power Station
I have the 1000 lithium. It is currently 13 months old and is a brick. Problems started when the battery would not fully charge. Repeated back and forth customer service to learn that is was my fault. Basically the battery can't get hot, or cold. Or be used too much or too little. Read this quote from an email from customer service. It was in response to my saying that because Covid closed events I was to use the battery it hadn't seem much run time, "I do understand. That could also be a factor in the battery not charging completely up to full. If you used the unit daily, or heavily enough that could have run through enough life cycles that the battery has already lost its capacity. On the other hand, if the unit has seen a lack of use (not being discharged/charged every 2-3 months) that could also cause the battery to lose some of its capacity over time. If the battery has ever gone below freezing temperatures or overheated, that could have also caused the battery capacity to go down. Another very possible reasoning for this is that the charge controller is still reading the battery as 100% full even though it’s at 91%. It’s entirely based on the voltage of the battery, and cycling the battery a few times can calibrate that charge controller to read the voltage correctly (or more precisely). This would be normal and not a defect. Now after repeatedly trying to cycle the battery it no longer takes a charge... at all... 0%. I have another battery and a bookcase solar setup, both worked fine. But now that there is a problem? Cutsomer service is terrible. Additionally, there are so many products available for considerably less cost. A company is only as good as it's customer service. I know I will never buy anything from GZ ever again and am sure to suggest other products to anyone who asks. Buyer beware.
