you get what you pay for
I sometimes forget that. It had so many good reviews that I figured it must be decent. First, what I liked about it: (1) small footprint; (2) quiet; (3) easy to maneuver; (4) inexpensive. What I didn't like: (1) A bit too small (I had the seat all the way back and got just enough extension for my legs...but if I was taller than 5-11 it would have been a problem, I can't imagine a short 380 lb person), (2) the resistance is not very strong (part of the reason I got it was that it had 16 levels of resistance (most had 8); turns out it was 16 levels of not much resistance. esp. considering that I had it maxed for half hr and barely broke a sweat); (3) the cranks are quite short making the pedal motion much smaller than if you were on a regular bike; (4) the machining for the hardware was a bit sub-par (it was pretty easy to put together but some of the bolts/threads were a challenge to keep from miss-threading). to sum it up: it may be good for recovering from surgery or getting started on an exercise regimen, but even if you're just fairly active, it may not be for you.
