★★☆☆☆
Bulky and ungainly
im pretty unhappy with the price vs the quality of this product.
I would return it but I already marked it just by the action of loading it up the first time.
My sister has the global one, at least I think that's the one she has. Not positive. But it's nice but I didn't like the weird color of the cover, I wanted black.
It holds 120 pencils. But the center flipper plates are not the same, one has slots front and back, the other just has slots on the front. Call me type a but when I got all my pencils in and started flipping back and forth my eye always goes to this big blank spot and I'm just not sure why they didn't put slots on that side too like they did on the first flipper. It seems like it was designed to hold 142 pencils and then they left the slots off one panel because maybe marketing said there was more demand for a 120 count unit?
The design of the slots themselves isn't ideal. Each pencil has to make it through two elastic loops. The loops are about 1/2" wide black elastic. If your pencil is down to the nub it won't go through two loops. The other brand I saw had only one loop but it was a wide elastic for stability. I think that would function much better for pencils especially once they are short.
Also the orientation of the slots is an issue for me as well as the width of the flipper panels. I didn't expect the pencils to stick out past the panels but they do. Visually it makes it a little harder to pick out colors when the tips are up in the air and not resting on a black background. I also worry that means my pencils aren't as protected.
It does have a hand strap for carrying which is actually a nice feature.
The zipper works nicely.
