Don't purchase "You are the Placebo" if you have read any of Dr. Joe Dispenza's other books OR completed any of his workshops. This book will be repetitive and a waste of your time. Additionally, 95% of the book is case examples (arduous to get through) showing how you could be the placebo, and 5% teaching you (kind of) how to be the placebo. I completed Dr. Joe's online Progressive & Intensive Workshops (US$299) and did find the information and meditations useful. However, I find the marketing machine behind Dr. Joe disingenuous and frustrating. Though the workshop was valuable, it ended on a very sour note. There were no instructions on how to proceed with the program and meditations, and Dr. Joe left by stating that if you have questions you could join the monthly live Q&A on zoom for $10 per month subscription....what?! After contacting Dr. Joe's support and asking how I should proceed after the seminar, they suggested that I purchase a different workshop (US$899!!!) and/or other Dr. Joe books. I decided on "You are the Placebo." I not only purchased the Kindle book ($10.49), but also purchased the Audible book ($16.99), hoping that the guided meditation would be included. It was not, and in typical Dr. Joe fashion, he provided a link in the final chapter on how to purchase the meditation on his store ($20). I had previously been interested in reading Dr. Joe's other books, but I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth and now feel like it will all be recycled content with additional meditations, etc. to purchase. It's a shame, because it does seem like Dr. Joe's program could be outstanding and life-changing if it were presented in a clear way and without the need to purchase more and more and more. IMO, if you really want to change the world, if you really want to help others improve their lives, you aren't going to give them the marketing run around. Marketing gimmicks will always leave a bad taste in your customer's mouth...no matter how good the product is.
