I just finished putting this together (I got the one side table) and it was simple and is actually very sturdy. Reviewers that are saying they wouldn't trust putting a cup on it must not have put it together properly, or pieces were defective. I feel like I could almost sit on it. It did come a little scuffed on the top, but I was never concerned about appearance. I'm a gamer who likes a good theater sound system, and I have five remotes/controllers, my phone, and a water bottle and had nowhere to put them. The floor was fine until I ended up unexpectedly fostering kittens (had to add a squirt bottle to my collection) that like to run around and stomp on buttons. Because of the kittens, I expected it to be scratched to hell within a few weeks anyway, so the scuff doesn't matter to me at all. I saw a reviewer or two complain about dings, but if you ask me, you deserve to be unhappy if you were that concerned about something looking perfect but only willing to fork over $20. If you want perfect items, pay for it. That's like buying a spaghetti TV dinner and complaining that it isn't quality straight from Italy. Also, another reviewer complained about it being short, and that it would only fit a bed that was just a box spring and mattress on the floor. Yes, the table is short, but the measurements are there. Don't blame the product for your mistake in overlooking details and/or not measuring beforehand. It also doesn't make you an ingrate for having a box spring and mattress on the floor with no bed frame. I'm a college student with a limited budget who would prefer to spend what extra cash I have on my technology and practical things. A bed frame isn't practical for my needs. Besides, "ingrate" was the wrong word. It means "ungrateful." I'm not ungrateful simply because I don't have a bed frame. Perhaps you were looking for "savage?" Or "peasant?" Possibly "degenerate?" Maybe even "barbaric?" Bottom Line: I'm very happy with this table. It's prefect for what I needed it for! Note: I chose to put the drawer on the top shelf instead as it fits on both top and bottom shelf.
