For nearly a year I’ve been wearing flat cloth masks that I can toss in the laundry. It was fine initially because I was staying home more and as such, not wearing makeup. Now I’m tired of being stuck at home and feeling blue. I want to put on makeup and go socialize but with the flat masks, it was rubbing makeup off and I was constantly forgetting to grab a washed mask before leaving. I needed a more convenient option. I bought these for my husband and I to use when convenience is needed. We leave them right by the door to grab before we head out instead of having to run back to the laundry room to grab a clean cloth mask. Due to the shape of this mask, it keeps the mask away from my mouth moreso than the cloth option and this my lip balm doesn’t rub off. My husband appreciates the shape too so he can be understood more clearly at work when speaking since it does sit further away from his mouth and doesn’t muffle him. We both wear glasses and found that when adjusting the nose piece and placing our glasses over the mask, it works better to help prevent our glasses from fogging. A huge plus when having to wear a mask for any extended length of time. I will say though for anyone that is concerned about proper fit and use of a mask- depending on your face size or structure, you may want to cross the straps before placing over your ear. My husband’s mask was fine without doing so, but I could fit at least two fingers between my chin and the bottom of the mask when the straps were not crossed. When I did cross them, the gap was corrected, creating a ‘seal’ around the entire perimeter of the mask. I tried to demonstrate that in the photo so as to ensure those with smaller faces that these can work for you too. I did feel as if more moisture accumulated over time in this mask compared to my cloth masks- and I didn’t care for that feeling. My husband didn’t seem to notice in comparison to other similar masks he wears at work. He said these are slightly more stiff but overall more comfortable because he felt he could breathe easier and didn’t seem to notice moist air during the day. I guess that goes to show everyone has a different experience.
