No more cooking smell inside kitchen!
Looks elegant! A quick upgrade to the kitchen just by changing the hood! I like the look of it. I like the performance as well, once it started working correct;-) So, when I installed it initially, I noticed that the suction was not great and I was wondering why people have mentioned that it has a good suction in previous comments. I was about to reach out to the customer service but I found the problem myself. In my troubleshoot, I found that the flaps on the hood was the culprit. In actuality, the flap is supposed to open upward when the fan is on, and should close butt when the fan is off, to a pin that stops it from going downward. I noticed that the flap was working opposite, meaning, the flap was already below the pin ("v'" downwards) and when the fan is on, the flap would try to open up, but the pin would restrict it, there by now it is in 'close' condition when it should be actually 'open'. At this stage, I have already installed the hood, so I don't want to contact the customer care and return it, but thought I will give it a try. So, very carefully, I pulled the thin metal flap over the pin by bending it slightly, being very careful not to bend it permanently. After a few try, I was able to bring the flap over the pin. Now, when the fan is on, the flap would 'v' upward, thereby being in open position and when the fan is off, it will rest back on to the pin there by closing it. Once I did this, the hood started working well! It works the way it should, just pulling the fumes and air and pushing it outside of the house! No more issues, yet. So, though the product is good when it works, I am giving only 4 stars because of my time spend finding the trouble and fixing it. The best feature I like is the timer we could set, how much longer the fan has to run after cooking is finished. However, note that, you shouldn't turn the hood off and expect the timer to kick in for the time we set. No..when you are finished cooking, just press the timer button and walk away. The hood, including light, would turn off by itself, after the specific time. Since I didn't like the yellow light from the bulb (GU10 base), I replaced it with Asher GU10 LED light bulb 5000K daylight white, bought from Amazon. Now it is golden and so is my kitchen! If I could edit my review later, I will upload a video to show how well it works.
