I purchased the cord cover to hide some speaker wire that I needed to run to the back wall for my surroundsound speakers. My living room is in carpet and my kitchen/dining room has hardwood floors - the cable needed to run in between the two rooms. Installation is a breeze. The sections come into pieces, a base piece which you attached to your clean floor using the sticky tape and a top section that snaps onto the base once you've placed the wire along the base. The cable covers made out of a real tough PVC plastic that handles foot traffic and vacuums without any problems. I never would've thought this would've matched as well as it does and works as well as it does, I am very pleased.
