Excelent replacement, trick install (read on)
The one I had died. The heating company confirmed it was dead. I asked them how much to replace it. He disabled this to keep red light and alarm and left. Later he quoted me $280 to replace it! A $36 prime buy on Amazon or $280 to have professional? Wife kicks in about this time with the usual, "you think you can fix everything" jazz (classic wife husband exchange) and I ordered it anyways. I just got the part and immediately went to install it with wife 2' behind me. As expected, the remote didn't work because the heating dude disabled it before he left. OK, go to the Installation Settings menu on the wall-mounted thermostat only to confronted with a Password Required screen. I immediately went through all the documents left by the heating dude after install and no clues as to what the Password was. Wife had her cell phone ready to dial... So a quick Google and (NOTE THIS:) The Default Installer Passcode Is The Date Code On The Back Of The Thermostat! Found out that the Date Code is also located in the "Contractor Information" menu (not password protected) at the bottom of that list. Plugged that in for the Installer's Password and wa-la - I'm in! Turned on the Remote Devices, Selected Indoor Sensor, paired it with this remote sensor and BOOM - I'm done, saving $244! And no, I'm not one of those people that says, "Told you so" to my wife... I just write these victories up in public...
