The prescription ones recommended by my vascular doctor was way toooooo expensive
I wish I could give these socks more stars but unfortunately they were disappointing. Before buying these socks, I did research many of them on Amazon and other places. You see, I survived a DVT (blood clot on my leg) due to my many travels. Even though I am a runner for years (about 5 miles each time, 3x a week), I still got the DVT. Anyway, I am very particular with my socks and wanted to get one that will also work for running. The prescription ones recommended by my vascular doctor was way toooooo expensive. They also have to be 20-30mmhg compression. I did buy one just to check them out and use as a baseline to compare with other socks. Again, my goal was to use them for fast walking (I stopped running) for distances of 2-5 miles and use them at the gym and look cool, i.e. I can't use the prescription socks because they were plain white and the other ones were plain black which makes them look like granny socks. Not cool. I tried these PHYSIX. I ordered a pair based on the recommended sizing chart. I tried them once, and then again to give them the benefit of use, and then washing and using them again. It was a disappointment. Three negatives stand out. One, the toe box seam is too bothersome. Take a look at the pictures. It bulges out and I can feel it press against the side edge of my toes especially the small toe. This made them uncomfortable. Second, it left a mark on my calf. You can see them clearly on the pictures. I took these pictures right after a workout. Third, the material is quite thin and slippery. My shoes felt loose compared with my other socks. This is not so much a negative and I guess it will work on my work shoes but that is not what I bought it for. But not all is bad. Some good things:The length is just right. It looks cool. It does not get my feet hot. But the tightness on the calf is a show stopper for me. For some this might work, but it did not for my goal. I went back to using my prescription socks. I don't have any of these negatives with them. I just wished they made it in cool colors and reduced the price. I tried other compression socks and will be reviewing them soon. Thanks for reading.
