Am really happy I pulled the trigger on this. It's not that it's a major financial commitment, it's that I hate making purchases on cheap crap that doesn't work out. This book reading light is inexpensive but it's not cheap, and it's not crap. I use it every night; it's replaced using my headlamp, which was a pretty annoying way to read at night. I'm including a photo which I took one-handed and it might look like the light doesn't reach the bottom of the page; this isn't the case, it lights everything up just fine, without being annoyingly bright. Part of the reason for this is that it's flexible and adjusts easily - I adjust the light so it shines on the page, not in my eyes. Highly recommended for anyone who camps and wants to preserve precious headlamp batteries, or for those who read in bed and either don't have a light nearby (which happens a lot while traveling, it's inhospitable actually) or who share a bed with someone who is bothered by a bright bedside lamp. Last thing - the book light is small and thin enough that it handily acts as a bookmark, which means it's right there when I need it next. It's obviously not as thin as a typical cardstock bookmark so it might not be suitable for a rare edition where you want to preserve the spine integrity as much as possible, but for normal everyday books it's great, you can see it sticking up out of the book in the photo.
