So, I won't take time to write about the merits of this series. If you are a child of the 1980s (like myself) you already have a great affinity for this classic show. So this makes what I'm about to say that much more unfortunate and tragic. I would like to speak on the aspect ratio error that has been reported by previous reviewers. So, thanks to Universal Home Entertainment's quality control (or lack thereof), there is a mastering error on (from what I can tell) the first 3 discs of Season 2 where the picture has been "squeezed". The result is not unwatchable - but it is definitely annoying and not the way we, as fans, should be enjoying this show. I know in the past when errors like this have happened at the manufacturing level with other companies - if you reach out to the company by email - they will often set up a disc exchange effort where you can send the faulty discs back and they will send you corrected ones. I did reach out to Universal Entertainment Group asking for this type of arrangement so that I could avoid seeking a refund. The response I received one day later was as follows: Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting us. Please exchange/return your copy of "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Complete Original Series" to the retailer where it was purchased. Sincerely, Consumer Relations UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOME ENTERTAINMENT So, apparently Universal Studios Home Entertainment is not in the least bit interested in fixing this issue - which is sad and very disappointing. Apparently they are more interested in the bottom line than providing a quality product. So, I returned my copy for a full refund (the case arrived cracked/broken anyhow, so there was that as well.) I'm just glad I still have my Mill Creek DVD copies of this series (this would have just been an update/upgrade) so that I can enjoy this series the way it was supposed to be enjoyed. Buyer beware! Steer clear of this release - try and get either the VCI or Mill Creek releases on EBAY if you can!
