Camping Louisiana during severe rain. 4/24/15 - 4/25/15
I showed up at the campground before my friends did, so I set to putting this tent up by myself. FIRST pro, the directions are not printed on a piece of paper that your buddy is gonna use to light the campfire, they are printed on a large cloth flap sewn to the inside of the tent bag. There are 2 grey poles and 3 black poles. The sleeves on the tent are color coded, black poles in the black sleeves, the grey poles in the grey sleeves. the last black pole forms the canopy on the rain fly (Which by the way is large enough to sit under). It took me by myself, under assault by every biting bug Louisiana has to offer, about 20 minutes to get the tent setup by myself. I had a queen sized air mattress, my backpack, a box fan, 2 ice chest, and still had plenty of room inside. It rained, it rained hard and it rained a lot. I did find a few drops of water in the tent, now as I stated earlier, Louisiana, this could have been from humidity creeping up the inside of the rain fly, it could have been a leak, I'm going to stick with the idea of humidity because everything in the tent felt damp after about 36 hours. Having lived in the swamp state my whole life I cannot blame the tent for this. If the size fits your needs, and you have a place large enough to find flat ground to fit the tent I believe this guy is a good choice. The only negative I have is the door zipper. There is a hook that connects the tent wall to the rain canopy rod, this creates enough tension halfway up the door that the zipper gets very tight and worried me that it might tear. What I did was have the top and bottom zipper meet there instead of trying to pull one or the other through the area of tension.
