I recently broke my leg and needed to keep it iced to get the swelling down before surgery. Unfortunately the splint was very thick and it didn’t penetrate the layers. However, I have been able to use it for other things and it is very cold. Too cold for direct contact and it needs to be wrapped in something as to not burn your skin, but I like that it stays cold for 20 minutes which is perfect for alternating heat and cold. It also refreshes quickly and is flexible.I bought the large and actually ended up cutting it into one smaller sheet and left the other two panels together because that allowed me more flexibility and freeze time for the piece I had just used.
