It may look like a DeWalt, but it isn't...
Warning!! This may appear to be a DeWALT pressure washer, but it really isn't. It is actually built by a company called The FNA Group who has purchased a licensing agreement from DeWALT to assemble and sell pressure washers using the DeWALT brand name. So my pressure washer is actually an FNA product disguised as a DeWALT product. Fraud? False advertising? Normally, no one would ever know the difference, but now that there is an issue, and neither company will step up and claim responsibility, I feel that it has gone beyond a mere business arrangement and has stepped into an unethical and potentially illegal game of bait-and-switch. This is not right and should not be allowed!
My pressure washer came to me packed in a DeWALT box with the DeWALT name, colors, model number, and serial number clearly labeled. It is very clearly a DeWALT pressure washer. As far as I'm concerned, DeWALT should be responsible to honor the warranty. DeWALT should repair it and work out any warranty details between themselves and The FNA Group. The issues between the two companies should be invisible to me, the consumer.
However, what I have discovered is that because it was assembled by FNA, DeWALT has washed their hands of any warranty issues claiming that FNA is responsible. FNA on the other hand blames the pump manufacturer and claims that they should be responsible. So my pressure washer sat in the service center for 45 days while I made dozens of calls between the service center, DeWALT and FNA. This nifty little arrangement they have is very convenient for both companies. They can sell defective merchandise and never have to settle a warranty issue as long as they can keep consumers bouncing back and forth seeking, but never getting, resolution to any warranty claims as neither company has the integrity to stand behind their names and do the right thing. By the way, it was clear when I spoke with FNA that they are very used to dealing with this and have become expert at deflecting calls and complaints.
