These are not effective barriers for anything other than maybe a crawler or infant. My 1 year old was able to tug twice on the doors and the strap (not the tape) released from the locking mechanism. The best part is I got a request to review this, so I quietly sent an email telling them about the issue with the product, no response, they weren't actually interested in my feedback on in my positive review. I would suspect that positive responses on this product are a result of their marketing plan initiating reviews prior to failure than on the actual product. My pictures are two different examples.
