Outputs only 40% of claimed wattage
For a cheap amp I did not expect true 2 x 120 watts of power, but I did expect more than 2 x 50. Using an oscilloscope, multimeter, and a 440hz sine wave it became apparent that this amp can only put out clean power up to 2 x 50 watts at 4 ohms and 2 x 25 watts at 8 ohms. The volume knob does go high enough to put out 2 x 120 watts at 4 ohms, but with way too much distortion to be practical. I did not bother to test the other features of this amp, but I bet it's still a decent amp if you don't ask it to put out very much, or if don't mind your sine waves looking like Machu Picchu.
Bottom line: seems like a decent amp, but only puts out 40% of claimed power before distortion takes over.
