If you want the 13-inch T-fal Fry Pan PICTURED, it's NOT what you'll get!
I ordered it, and had no doubt I'd receive exactly what was advertised and pictured as it matched my existing pan exactly and perfectly, but that was not the case. I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened the box, and when I picked it up, it was noticeably lighter in weight and flimsy-feeling. And, both handles on this pan are not the ones pictured on Amazon. The longer handle and the smaller helper handles are of a completely different design than pictured. Go ahead and hover your mouse over the three photos to the left of the bigger photo of the Red Dot Heat Indicators which is indeed T-fal's copyrighted/trademarked design, which is not on this different pan and I don't think I've ever seen that Red Dot Heat Indicator on any T-fal pans before; its a different indicator design for sure. Take a close look and you'll see the smaller helper handle is a round/oval shaped and you'll see the difference with my posted photos of this other pan… not the same!
I hate to use the old phase, "Bait and Switch", but I can't help to think, something is fishy here. Whoever sold these pans to Amazon didn't even bother to use T-fal's trademark large round label with written facts of the pan; instead they used a piece of brown paper simply cut into a circle, stating absolutely nothing! Could this be a knock-off or a fake? I will tell you, the genuine T-fal fry/skillet pans are still being sold at many kitchen stores as well as big chain retailers. And the quality of the real pan is great, heavier, and the handles are smooth, especially the smaller helper handle; I have smaller hands so I can easily get two to three fingers in there and it's helpful when transferring cooked dishes into serving platters or large serving bowls. The helper handle on the pan I received is somewhat rough-edged, which could possibly scratch your skin w/the wrong move. Oh, and when you see the photo of my pan , hopefully you'll be able to notice it has a Durabase bottom and is made in France (and clearly the rimed edge of the real pan is thicker, hope you can see that as well). The questionable pan has a base that I've never seen used on any T-Fal pans.
Hope this helps someone else. It would be great if Amazon can secure the real T-fal fry pans again. Last FYI: My son ordered the giant 13-inch fry pan from Amazon 5 to 6 months ago and he did receive the genuine T-fal w/the Durabase, w/correct trademark heat indicator, and it read 'Made in France'.
