Cliffhanger without warning
So this story was a ciffhanger and I HATE when that's not disclosed up front. Here we have Logan (heroine with a masculine name) who hears screaming one night and is confronted with vampires when she goes to check it out. They think she looks really familiar and basically kidnap her and bring her before Cyrus. He doesn't explain his role in the vampire world but tells her she must die immediately. Logan bargains with him for a month in which he has to let her live and get to know her while she wraps up her human life. For some reason he's enchanted enough to agree. Cyrus is enigmatic and does NOT share or give Logan any advice in this new confusing world and it makes for an unsympathetic hero. Logan for her part is supposed to be wrapping up her human life but with only a month to live she only visits her parents ONCE. She also avoids her best friend at every turn. Why would you squander this opportunity to let your family and friend.s know you love them?
Once Cyrus reveals why he has such a hard on to kill her it pretty much ruined things for me. I wanted to slap the snot out of him but Logan just decides she wants whatever makes him happy. From fiercely independent to dishrag. SPOILER: The story ends with her death but you still don't know if she will wake up a vampire or Cyrus gets his greatest wish. Just No.
