I do not recommend this product. I went through the sharpening process on four 45 mm blades and two 60 mm blades following instructions exactly and I did not get one sharp blade. Here is the process. Oil the sharpening stones before using the sharpener by placing drops of oil on each one until they no longer absorb oil. Lay the dull blade inside the sharpener and close the lid holding it down with one hand. Activate the motor by holding the power button down with the other hand. This engages a screaming motor. Do NOT relax your hand holding the lid before releasing the power button. I tried sharpening two different blades by using only the fine stones since they came already installed in the sharpener. The result was dull blades. I decided to try again using different dull blades using both the coarse and fine stones. The instructions say to run the sharpener 30 seconds, remove blade, re-oil stones, flip and replace blade and run for 30 seconds more. Repeat up to 4 times. After using the coarse stones, change to fine stones and repeat. There was evidence on the edge of the blades that the stones were making contact but none of the blades would cut fabric after all that effort. The blades I tried to sharpen were not nicked or damaged in any way, they were just dull. This product was about $45.00 with free shipping from Amazon.
