Slightly better than a flame-thrower
We have a wolf spider problem. And a problem with tiny bugs accumulating in teeny spider webs on our french doors. I hate using poison around my garden or home, but bought this because WOLF SPIDERS and because cleaning the dead bugs off my french doors was getting overwhelming.
I sprayed it around every square of the french doors after cleaning them all off, and a month later, they are starting to reappear. As for the wolf spiders, I have a story.
A palm-sized female (let's call her Helga) strolled out from under my refrigerator two days ago, despite my spraying Miss Muffet's Revenge all along baseboards and under appliances about a month prior. She was definitely not ill. She was startled by my scream, turned toward me, and raised her palps at me, all eight eyes gleaming. After assuring my 6yo that she probably wouldn't eat him while I went for the Miss Muffet (I didn't really believe it as I said it); I armed myself, and released a stream of poison on Helga's hairy back. Sorry, Helga. My head knows you are just trying to find a nice lizard or mouse for lunch, but my gut says YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE ALIEN THINGS THAT WILL LAY EGGS INTO MY THROAT HOLE. Helga's torment was brief. Miss Muffet apparently works when used as an assault weapon. My husband and child had already fled in terror. I was left to dispose of her carcass myself, and feel guilty about killing what can only be described as a small, if hideous, animal.
Karma has seen fit to throw me a curve ball though, in the form of what I must conclude is Helga's army of offspring. After Helga's demise, I re-sprayed under all appliances, along baseboards, etc. Yet that very day, three teeeeeeeeeny wolf spiders were found hanging out ON TOP OF where I had sprayed. Not phased at all by the poison. Over the course of the two days since, I have squashed no fewer than a dozen little wolfies (you can zoom in on the pics and see their wolfy palps). They have crawled onto my cutting board as I prepare evening vittles. Their tiny silhouettes throw monstrous shadows on my countertops as they linger on the light fixture above. They lay in wait on junk mail, only visible when they chose a white envelope as their battleground. They rear their tiny heads as I pick up accumulated dishes from the day. They hide in my dish gloves. There is no safe place in my kitchen, and I fear the worst for the family room, dining room and breakfast nook.
Miss Muffet, you have failed us. My last hope to reclaim this territory is to allow the frogs and toads from my back yard inside to fight for us. If that fails, fire. Fire is the only solution.
