HP Doesn't Approve Of You Buying Your Own Ink
The ink is ink, much like any other ink. But boy does HP not want you to buy it on your own. HP wants you to sign up for their Instant Ink ripoff. They want this really badly. When I replaced the in cartridge for the first time (after way too little actual printing), mycomputer screen suddenly had a bazillion popups, and the LCD on the printer itself had it's own share of insane messages. The long and the short of it is that HP wants you to sign up for Instant Ink, and they are not going to shut up about it. Ever. I'm trying to get work done, and HP just lays all this useless crap on me that I have to read in case any little tidbit actually matters. Will never, ever buy another HP product, not because the product is bad, but because HP itself is interfering with me getting actual work done. Printer is only a few weeks old and I'm thinking about dumping it because of the annoyance factor.
