I bought this and started using it at the beginning of the year. At first, I really liked it, so much so, that I bought one for a friend. However, in less than 6 months of normal use, it cracked as I was pouring hot water into it. I contacted Bodum to let them know what had happened and they told me that there was nothing they could do, which to me is baffling, seeing that the products main function is to hold hot water. This product is less expansive than a lot of other presses and it got really good reviews, however you pay for what you get. I would expect a French Press to last a lot longer than 6 months, and if not, I would expect the company to at least replace it. I'm not buying another Bodum product again.
