A Pet Hazard
This may be "safe" for pet's paws but 1. It didn't melt the ice for over 2 days. The pellets never even dissolved 2. Those little green pellets are slicker than the ice itself. My poor dog could barely walk across the deck without slipping and sliding. I finally swept it all off (especially on the stairs.) and used a regular salt mix - I just wipe off her paws when she comes in. 3. The damn green pellets get EVERYWHERE in your house because they NEVER melt. I have a Basset Hound with huge front feet and the green pellets would get imbedded in her paws and she would track it all in the house. If I go out on my deck or sidewalk I slip and slide on the pellets and they stick in the grooves of my shoes and get brought into the house. The one week I tried it, it made my life a misery trying to get rid of the non-dissolving green pellets both inside and out. Did I put too much on? I don't know since it didn't melt anything. Maybe I didn't put on enough - but based on other reviews I don't think so. I'm sure my dog didn't appreciate all those green pellets stuck in her paws.
