I bought this as a dish mat. At first I thought it was going to work out well as the water dries quickly which is kind of neat, however after a week of use, this is going to end up in the trash. It stains very easily. I wouldn't think I would have any issues putting clean dishes on this but apparently I didn't wash my Chemex good enough because it left a coffee stain on the mat. I used the supplied sand paper to remove the stain and it only lightened it some. The supplied piece of sand paper appears to be a one use deal because after gently using it, all the grit was gone. I then washed a baking pan and it left a rust stain which is pretty prominent. Looks dirty where you don't want to put any dishes on it at all. I might use it for the dogs wash dishes but I am sure it will continue to stain. For what it's worth, I got the white but I can't imagine the gray being any better. Save your money.
