I live in Southern Maryland 54-70 miles from the desired chanel towers. The antenna that was being replaced is a huge 40 year old amplified Winegard V shaped (model cw-1001) that pulled in 54 channels with only a few pixelated. It had to be moved but in it's condition could not survive disassembly. This new, smaller Elite 7550 with all the distance hype looked like the logical solution. To double check Winegards claims before I did the big move, the 7550 was mounted on the same pole below the big antenna and a channel scan was done on the big, original antenna. No change, 54 channels. I then changed the RG6 to the 7550 with it's own amplifier and did a scan. 38 channels and only a few that were not pixelated or in and out. I tried a separate pole on different parts of the roof and the only good, reliable signal I could get was due East 44 miles across the Chesapeake bay to WBOC Delaware. After 40 years of superior performance from the old Winegard I am very disappointed in this highly hyped new model.
