could be a nice chair, but its defective
We received this chair and right out of the box it was very hard to line up the metal channels when installing the back rest. My first thoughts was that its soft but supportive when we finally got it assembles. The 4 feet just simply screwed into the predrilled holes, very easy. Its small but looks really nice and is great for small homes with little space. BUT it was super hard to recline the chair back. Once it was reclined back it was almost impossible to raise it back up into the sitting position. It took all of my elderly mothers strength to recline the chair and once reclined she could not get it back into the sitting position and my dad had to help her get out of the chair while it was reclined. I am 6' 220 pounds and pretty strong and i struggled to make the chair raise back up from the reclined position. After examining the chair it appears that its defective and the metal scissor mechanism that extends and retracts the leg rest is bent and making it bind up. I contacted the seller and they would only off a $10 partial refund like that is really going to make it work better. Because they are a third party seller they want me to arrange for return and pay full shipping cost to return their defective item. So i am going to end up being out $35 to $45 with nothing to show for it as its a huge heavy box. This could be a great chair if it was working correctly, but I am really disappointed with the quality control, being sent a defective chair, and even more disappointed with the seller not standing by their product and wanting to make me pay for their defective item.
