as someone who was involved with the gamergate fever dream, i respect her personal side of the story and have empathy because of the harassment she received. the internet can be cruel, i know, i live there. i witnessed everything zoe talks about in this book. having your dirty laundry aired for so many to see and talk about must have been incredibly stressful. but there is so much misinformation here when it comes to the actual facts. for example the youtuber "little blue skull guy" (mundanematt) did not accuse her of sleeping with people for reviews, he was just reporting on a story he heard, which is what he does in all of his videos. also blaming gamergate for the election of trump is bizarre. considering most involved were left leaning-liberal people, even feminists. she also exaggerates the "anonymous hatemob" thing to extremes. although there were trolls and people obsessed with her personal life, the majority, and i mean THE MAJORITY, of those involved in gamergate were not anonymous haters, they were just outspoken people passionate about ethics in journalism (no seriously). just keep in mind this book is an autobiography so it is quite biased and remember to always get both sides of the story.
