Water smells like a hamster crawled up the filter and died
Great product for about a month, then as many other reviewers have noted, the water has this foul fishy smell that would make small children cry. I'm not exaggerating, the water smells HORRIBLE. And it's not due to the tap water either (Chicago city tap water). I've used PUR and Brita filters for years (regularly changing the filters of course) and I've NEVER encountered the dead hamster smell.
Pros: Works excellent and tastes great for about a month.
Cons: I was afraid I might have incubated the next plague.
The filtering/dripping is kind of slow too compared to other filters. But if you work out the cost and don't mind buying 1 filter per month per person, then this is probably for you. Just don't be surprised when you bring that day 32 glass up to your lips and you're suddenly compelled to write a review on Amazon.
