Attention! Very cheap plastic in pivotal front wheels now broken 2 times after replacing with new part from the factory.
Hi!
I liked this cart for all the reasons that many post except now 1 yr of use later I've given the cart the true test of time. Even I think the owner of the actual company that manufactures them of (not Versacart in Boulder, CO) Filgenuity LLC Hillsborough, NJ was very nice to email back to me last 1-23-17. He said to first email photos of the broken pivotal double wheel. He then very promptly had his warehouse send a replacement wheel. That kind of care and attention sadly rarely happens in this day and age. I'm sorry to say the serious Achilles heel with the Versacart is that the pivotal front wheels, the plastic part that joins the two wheels and snaps into place on the front down pipe is made of a very cheap easily fractured brittle plastic. If they only made those parts of metal instead, sad... It is also a molded part that is impossible to repair with screws or replace on your own. It broke off when I was hauling groceries from my car into the high-rise apt bldg I live in. I had gone over an area of rough ice, but not all that rough. Just about 2hrs ago, I just totaled my load to be 41 pounds of groceries, the very same cheap pivotal wheel part broke again. This time all I was doing was going over smoothly sculpted icy hard snow many pedestrian footsteps had smoothed over, so a smooth uneven surface of ice, only about an area 2 feet wide before I was on smooth pavement was all it took. I was specially, after my experience last winter, proceeding with caution being very aware of how easily the front double pivotal wheel broke off last January. Even my being very careful was not enough, thus my one star. All the other aspects of this cart is great. If you buy this cart just never use it on any rough or even smooth uneven surface, strictly bare cement or asphalt, or smooth hallways. The temp today was 21 degrees Farenheit. So I had a mile to go home pressing hard and having to stop frequently to rest after making up for trying to transport my groceries on 3 wheels. I badly need such a cart but never again Versacart and only a cart that is made of all metal. I give up after 2 times in less than a year. I hope I helped some of you with your decision and also hope you don't make the same mistake I did.
Sincerely, Winfred0000
