The unit fails on multiple levels. First and foremost it locks up on every new call. Manufacturer's solution is to unplug it from the phone line and plug it back in again. Not something I want to do on a continuing basis. Second, when a new caller calls in they are instructed by a mechanical and unnecessarily brusque voice to press "0" to get on the white list (not sure what robo-dialup computer the unit is trying to intimidate while at the same time turning off your friends). In any event, when your caller punches "0" they're told to then call back again and they'll get through. Really??? System couldn't just let them through then? Telemarketers don't have redial on their phones? Again, how to annoy your friends. Third, a new benefit of v2.0 is the ability to preload the system with your contacts' phone numbers so they're already white-listed. Without a keypad, on average you have to punch buttons a little over 5 times for just one digit or 50+ times for a single contact number. If you have a modest list of 20 callers you'd like to white-list, that's 1,000+ button punches (!). Why can't you plug your phone into the unit and use its keypad? Better, develop an app to do it from your smartphone if you have one. Their web site is no better. Of the ~10 FAQs on the site the first instructions you to watch their video. Problem is there's no video nor link to a video. Further down they tell you that if you want to get certain capabilities with the unit you should connect it to your phone system using "option 3". Problem here is there's nothing on the web site or in the supplied literature that tells you what "option 3" is, only "option 1" and "option 2". I've spent 25+ years in product design/development/manufacturing and quality control. It's been my experience that there are certain marginal and sub-marginal suppliers that would like you to believe that they can deliver a quality product when indeed they are unwilling or incapable of putting in the effort to do so. In my opinion, this manufacturer falls into that category.
