I switched my 5 year old orange tabby to this brand in an effort to feed him “better” quality food. I fed him good stuff before but I heard so many great things about blue buffalo, I figured I’d go for the best for his health. After about a month, I ended up having to take him to the ER for a urinary obstruction. He had struvite crystals. Never an issue before. I had to spend 1k to take care of it and save his life (hospital wanted to charge me 3k and keep him for a few days). I thought maybe it was the food but didn’t want to be a super skeptic. After reading the 1-star reviews and seeing other ppl complaining of the same thing, now I’m convinced. Have to feed him Rx food for the rest of his life now to avoid this from happening again. And yes, wet food is a solution but my cat would rathee starve than eat wet food (I tried. 48 hours and he didn’t touch a variety of wet food). So, please beware. Urinary blockages are fatal if not remedied and you will end up having to pay an arm and a leg to take care of it. Not worth it.
