I wish I had listened to my gut on this one. However, I was also guided by the large amount of positive reviews and liked the idea of a variety of sound options on this sleep machine. I foolishly chose to ignore the negative comments, most of which seemed to describe a pattern: Great for the first few months, then progressive buzzing, cracking, hissing, and eventually a non-functional unit. I finally threw mine away yesterday. The unit was down to only one option for months (white noise) when it just stopped completely. I would say I only had about 6 months of full usage from this unit. What a disappointment. Amazon should really look into this. Something is amiss with quality control at the manufacturer.
