I don't give one star ratings very often but this item just did not live up to my expectations after reading reviews on here. First of all, it cuts in the middle of the board, so you have to be very careful how you line up your paper or it will be off. You can't always tell if the paper is lined up properly this way. Secondly, it will not cut through one sheet of good quality cardstock. I make cards and do scrapbooking and use cardstock all the time. This is NOT for cardstock. Every time I tried a piece, it would shred my paper's edges...totally a waste. I do use decent cardstock and not the cheap thin stuff though but still, a good quality paper cutter should not have a problem with that. I have used an expensive Carl paper cutter for years. It's done well and held up but I needed a new blade and this one was so cheap, I figured I'd try it. Mistake on my part sorry to say. I hope this helps someone to look elsewhere for a better paper cutter. You truly do get what you pay for in this case. I guess if you ONLY cut thin papers, it might work but it's not for my needs.
