They loved them. So I ended up buying one
Here is the deal. My neighbor and a friend both bought Traegers. They loved them. So I ended up buying one. Apparently they are now manufactured in China and the difference between mine and my friends' is unbelievable. Mine has broken down so many times I just stopped using it. The lid doesnt stop and falls all the way back, eventually breaking the hinges. Once I came out and it was completely on fire. Another time the hopper was on fire. I store mine in a garage, clean it out regularly and take way better care than my friends do of theirs. After calling their help line several different times I finally said that I must have gotten a lemon. All this happened in the first 6 months. Their suggestion was that I pack it into my car and drive it to their shop in Wilsonville, Oregon. Really? That's your only suggestion? Both friends agree when looking at mine that there are some difference in quality. I bought a Char Griller Pellet grill for half the price and so far its flawless, holds temp and runs much quiter. Consider your self warned. These are not the same quality they built their reputation on. Probably why Terry Bradshaw no longer endorses these.
