The screen scratches very easily and fragile connectors
I am an industrial designer working at Solaris Design and develop 20+ new products a year. Though it is a decent design, and an amazing concept, unfortunately I must rate this product as "it's okay". Why? This is why: 1- My Wacom Cintiq 13HD is a week old. But, the screen scratches ridiculously too easily. I treated the screen better than any other electronics on my desk. Similar to how I would treat the paper. Nothing other than Wacom's stylus ever touched its surface. And during use, it has been cleaned well with Wacom's fabric cloth. Yet it seems to be not enough. I can see some of my sketches' marks on the screen even after a week's light use. 2- Connectors are not strong enough to cope with even gentle orientation moves while the screen is standing on a desk. Orientation moves are required for optimal hand strokes on the screen. But if you move it, you may lose the signal. 3- "ON" light is too weak to provide any feedback during daylight. You may have to shield it from light to see what it is trying to say. All these are a few serious inconveniences Wacom Cintiq 13HD screen has. Technically it performed quite well so far but in terms of UX (User Experience), physical quality and reliability I am not that sure at all... For a product with a quite high price tag, easily macthing computers, I am sorry but the consumer should expect more. The money is paid for the expectation of purchasing a precision equipment but it has serious hardware fragility issues. UPDATE: My Wacom Cintiq 13HD's enclosure shockingly started to open up by itself after 2 months of light use. I noticed two approximately 10-15mm long, 2-3mm wide gaps between the upper and lower parts of the enclosure on the side. The upper part seems to be made of aluminum and it seems like it started to buckle by itself. The unit was never dropped, almost never carried around and was sitting on my desk. This is a serious design flow and hope they did something to take care of that... Its not good to have a product that pops open by itself.
