I didn't notice anything at first. I sliced them and put them in vodka. Completely submerged. Then a couple days in I noticed some white substances floating around in the vodka. On closer inspection I found that the beans were slimy inside and it was the detached slime floating around that I'd seen. The first batch I made was with beans from a different seller so I took one of those out and that batch was perfectly fine. No slime at all. It's one thing if these beans had been in there for months before becoming slimy. Then I might think that it was a mistake of my own... but a couple days? That's a different story. I do not recommend these. Not only is the money I spent on these beans wasted but the vodka I bought as well. I was surprised because this listing has so many good reviews but, you know, considering that you're going to be investing time and money into making vanilla extract, I think it's better to just give these guys a pass.
