I was under the impression this was for a battery in retail packaging, which I assumed meant it was new. Battery arrived in a plastic bag and there were marks on the battery terminals where it has been used before. It does seem to be an authentic Samsung product, but if you want a "new" or in "retail packaging" , this one is not for you. Save yourself the hassel and buy a legit battery elsewhere. Battery doesn't last any longer than my old batt, runs hot. Do not buy this product, it is junk. No better than my 2yr olf battery. Update- after using this battery for 24 hours, I can confirm that this battery is junk. It performs no better than my old battery, it dies after about 5 hours. It does charge a little faster than my old battery. But please, save yourself the money and DO NOT BUY THIS BATTERY. It is trash.
