Fun but quirky inconsistencies leading to disappointment
A lot of good but just enough quirks to be absolutely irritating.
Make sure you understand that you are purchasing the standard set, 4 pods. The description is slightly confusing as it states 4/6, very easy to think you are receiving 6 pods. Standard vs Trainer kit, only option was standard when I placed my order... adding to confusion.
Pods stack on top of each other to charge and it only takes an hour or so to reach 100%. Connecting via Bluetooth is very easy once you download the app. There are numerous programs for you to choose from. Regardless of sport and ability I believe every athlete can benefit from these reaction pods. Customization on most programs is a nice touch. Instant feedback is probably my favorite feature as my kids can continuously challenge themselves to be better after each round.
The app provides a large catalog of programs for every type of athlete but at the same time that can overwhelm the user. The carry case is a nice addition. I wish accessories were included like their cone and suction cup attachment. Always about the up sell.
The negatives are few but very pronounced. Bluetooth w/ pods would disconnect frequently. At first I thought it happened when I received a text or alert from my security system but after turning both alerts off the pods still disconnected at random times.
Battery life is nowhere near the 8 hours that is advertised. We experienced an hour and a half tops. Good thing charging is relatively short (an hour or so).
Another quirk that drove all of us crazy was the sensitivity of the pods. They are too inconsistent. I could place my hand over the entire surface or quickly tap the pod and it would not register. This happened all too often that some of the times/feedback was not correct.
Pair these three flaws w/ the price and I simply could not justify the purchase. At $300 this prices out a large portion of the fitness community. Keep an eye out throughout the year, they do offer sales and some bundles.
Maybe I received a defective kit. I ended up returning it. I was disappointed, we really wanted to keep them but they were simply not up to par.
