This New and "improved" mask is AWFUL. It sux, you've been warned.
WOW. What a drag. I bought this make of mask a few years back, and loved them. They work great. Soft, hug your head, eyes, and nose; block light and fit nicely. UNFORTUNATELY, the Lewis-n-Clark folks never heard of the expression, "if it ain't broke, don't fit it." They changed them, and now they SUCK. Now, instead of nice soft material on both sides, the side facing away from your face is covered in something like umbrella material. Poly-something, no doubt. It's NOISY. It crinkles constantly, as you try to move your head. Beyond that, for reasons I don't understand--perhaps that material, again--now the sleep mask is STIFF, and it doesn't conform to your face. Turn your head on the pillow, and the mask lifts up away from your face, as you're basically trying to force this STIFFIE (yeah, I went there) to bend. There's also this little loopy thing hanging off the side, that rubs up against your head. No idea what that's for. So, what IS the use of the umbrella material? I guess, if your roof caves in, in the midst of a deluge, you're saved--your eyes won't get wet. Or, if you're sleeping in the car with your moonroof open. Bonus, right? In short, this mask is perfect, if you don't mind that it sounds like crinkly vinyl every time you breath or move your head, that it doesn't fit on your face, that it doesn't BEND, that when you turn to sleep on your side, the mask doesn't go with, and that the little loopy thing rubs up against your head. Just PERFECT. Urgh. I hate it when a perfectly good product is ruined by some idiot "improving" it. This ain't improving, folks. On a bright note, if you have a gerbil, or hamster, you could give it to them as a featherbed, perhaps.
