I feel like I've seen a very different movie than most. The writing was poor, characters paper thin, and the acting was hammy and unconvincing (reminded me of the awful disney star wars movies where they overact and look like they're trying too hard). The comedy was really out of place and unwelcome since this should've been a gripping and intense action/horror flick. Instead it's loaded with dumb humor and typical jump scares. There's cliches and ridiculous absurdities all over this thing, it really was all over the place. The plot itself is absurd but I can let that slide considering what the movie is. The problem is that there's so many things that don't make sense here. And how exactly did a handful of people go up against about 30+ german soldiers. The whole group should be dead five times over. I didn't think I'd say this about this movie cause I really wanted to like it but this was downright cartoonish. Overlord is entertaining trash at best. Ultimately it's completely empty and forgettable. The effects and cinematography were well done but it just isn't a good movie.
