I have had this slicer for only 8 months and the plastic gear broke I was slicing boneless chicken no big stress on the machine. I have contacted the company and spoke to Chris e-mailed her photos to show the damage,she e-mailed me to say she will get right back to me it has been over a week now. She never got back to me when I call I get only voice mail. This is not a company that has any pride stay away from this slicer, it does not last and Chef's Choice does not back there product.
