False advertisement stating that their Plasmawave does not emit Ozone is a complete BS! I could not believe it at first. Me and my girlfriend bought this product to help with pet dander as cockatiels produce an insane amount of those. He was a very active, happy and content baby bird only a year old and we thought this product would help, which it did as we run it 24/7 right beside his cage in auto mode. I was concerned with Ozone emitting air purifiers during my research and came to this product which seemed amazing at the beginning. My girlfriends bird just the next day of using this started showing symptoms of inactivity, doesn’t chirp or sing and bark because ours do but we were so busy that we just didn’t pay too much attention or concern till the inevitable happen. When we went to the Vet for a postmortem, he said that our poor birds lung had a malfunction and could be caused by many things so he asked if we did something different and mentioned that we did purchased a new air purifier then he asked us if it has any ionizers and that those produce ozone that may have harmed our bird. I then went and called Winix to verify if their Plasmawave does create ozone, sure enough they said yes but in a very tiny amount that it’s considered not harmful and also mentions that it can be turned off. To humans it may maybe not that harmful but be wary of using this thing around pets and learn from our mistake! In a fit of rage my girlfriend smashed this product with a baseball bat. So now we lost our beloved companion bird and had our hearts broken, and my wallet is $180+ lighter, if only these companies advertise correctly and accurately... I do not recommend this product to anyone with pets.
