When I received this I set up the App and then calibrated it against my smart phone to see what the difference in accuracy was. The first walk I did was a short one and my phone recorded approx 600 steps. The Kummel only showed 186 steps. I tried it again, and the Kummel again under counted the steps. Reviewing the instruction manual again, tucked away in one of the FAQ questions was the statement that the Kummel counted arm swings as opposed to steps. I returned it. UPDATE - contacted by seller with offer for a new tracker or gift card which shows they read reviews and do respond. Declined offer as I did get refund, and asked them to note how tracker works in description.
