DO NOT BUY BIALETTI POTS! At one time, Bialetti was considered to be the Cadillac of stovetop espresso pots, and I have used Bialetti pots since 1980. I bought this new pot to replace a 2001 Bialetti because the handle broke when I dropped it. It was a great pot, but these new pots made in China/India are worthless junk! After one week of usage and hand washing, all of the chrome has worn off, and the pot looks 100 years old! But even worse, there is bare metal exposed, and a black metallic substance gets on my hands every time I touch it. I probably drank some of this metallic substance too….VERY UNSAFE and a health hazard! See the photo of my hand; that is just from unscrewing the top. There was a problem processing the online return for this the new pot, as Amazon doesn’t return household items, but I talked to CS and they were very helpful and gave me a full refund.
