1st Flash lasted only 2 days then died suddenly and permanently. Battery and insides were severely rusty and corroded. This was a perfectly suited and thoughtful Christmas present gone horribly wrong. Re Photos attached Why would a brand new, current model electronic device look like this?
1st replacement Flash completely stopped working also after 2 weeks of intermittently stopping and saying the battery was flat. Even with a brand new battery. Support said this was a 'known issue' - sent another.
2nd replacement Flash has just died after just over 1 week. On inspection, battery and insides were again very rusty/ corroded.
This was an apparently cheap item that quickly showed itself to be way overpriced. Even if they paid you $20 to take them, the lost time and frustration would still make them overpriced
The build quality just isn't there and Quality control appears to be non existant!
Support while initally helpful is then shooting themselves in the foot by simply sending out more of the same disfunctional items, obviously from the same bad batch. They are not even bothering to chech that the insides and battery have not already succumbed to corrosion before wasting shipping and their customers time dealing with yet another dud.
Misfit need to realise every defective unit they send out is another nail in their brand's coffin with another disgruntled customer sharing their bad experience with their circle of friends.
A special mention too has to be made of the Misfit Flash's Clip. This is also very poorly designed and manufactured. The style is not sufficiently secure and the material too thin and britle. The first clip lasted less then 1 week before splitting and the Flash falling out.
Update 16 March: I got this astounding message from Misfit support:
" Regarding the Flash water resistance, according to the most recent update, Flash is water-resistant up to 30m and suitable for everyday use. This means Flash is splash/rain resistant, but NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkeling, and similar water work. 3atm or 30m is not suitable for swimming and bathing."
So apparently the advertised, 'water resistant to 30m' doesn't mean what it says, rather it means whatever they say it means. Forget about 30 meters, even showering is off limits.
Sorry Misfit but this is just outright false advertising!
