is made of *looped* carpet which is widely known as not the best type for cats
Buyer beware, this carpet which is specifically made for cats, is made of *looped* carpet which is widely known as not the best type for cats, or pets in general. The main issue for me is the cat's claws getting caught in the loops. After having this a few weeks, I've had to "rescue" my frustrated cats from the loops a few times
Now, looped carpet, if installed widely throughout the house, a cat can scratch and pretty easily remove their caught claws since the carpet is tightly held down. Of course, I doubt one would encourage their cat to sharpen their claws on their carpet.
The issue here is the flexibility and movability of this Ripple Rug. When my cats are getting caught, as they try to remove their claws, the carpet folds and they somewhat drag it around folding up corners and such. I wanted to encourage my cats to use it to sharpen their claws on this, but when they do, they're getting caught a lot.
One might think, so what?...A cat will eventually get unstuck on their own. Yeah, but when cats are playing and let's say one is being too rough, but the other is caught, there might be a mini freak out for the stuck cat. Yes, cats can get caught on blankets, too, but when buying a product specifically for cats, I don't want to have this issue.
Of course, I can't get my money back because it's been opened.
Heck, even quality cat tree making companies know better than to use looped carpet on their products.
