A few MAJOR design flaws with this machine
This thing works ok but has a few major design flaws:
1) You cannot tell how close you are to the end of a cartridge so it's pretty much guaranteed that you're going to run out of adhesive backing in the middle of running a piece thru it. There is no way to tell how much is left in the cartridge so just like when you run out of ink in a printer as you're printing something - you will run out of adhesive as you're running something thru which means whatever piece is in the machine is ruined. There is no way to salvage the piece in the machine when it runs out. If the piece is hand drawn then to have it run out halfway thru with no way to remove the piece without destroying it that's a pretty big design flaw.
2) Another flaw is that the cartridges themselves are a massive waste of plastic. I cannot possibly over state this point -- it's astonishing to me that the company could be so clueless and wasteful. Way too much plastic for something that is made to be disposable. It's a joke the amount of plastic used for just one of these cartridges.
I have not used any other sticker machines so I cannot compare but the performance and function of this one are mediocre in my opinion. You have a lot of sticky residue coming out w every piece that you have to remove w a decent eraser if you want clean removal of excess adhesive. The resulting stickers are decent. It basically coats the backside w an adhesive film but unlike a store-bought sticker, when you remove the backing to expose the adhesive you have the adhesive sticking to both side creating like a string effect until it finally snaps off of the backing paper which is kind of annoying.
Does it do the job? Yes.
Does it do an impressive job? No.
